As of late
I simply must commit to doing a better job at updating this blog! I have been occupied with other things as of late; however, I do enjoy writing here.
I have begun to substitute teach in Escambia County (though I wish we lived closer to Santa Rosa because I would prefer to sub there). I have only had two classes, but whew! they were rough. It is certainly an opportunity to invest (even though it seems small) in children who seemingly have little to no positive influences in their lives.
Hunting season opens on Saturday. Brian is really pumped up about it because this year, he and his dad and one of his brothers will be able to hunt together at the same hunting club. It's a real treat for Brian. He really values spending that time with the men in his family. I hope that he kills the biggest buck out there (Reader: you should be proud! It has taken me a while to adapt to the jargon and way of life in the woods, but I think I have the very basic things down).
Good news! I am finally in the second trimester of the pregnancy (which, for those who don't know, means that I am beginning the fourth, fifth, and sixth months of the ordeal. I am in month 4 barely). I feel so much better than I did the first three months. Brian has been so patient in dealing with my nausea and irritability-- though he didn't let me get away with the latter very often (which I appreciate). I am busy trying to acquire the following books:
"The Birth Book" by Dr. William Sears
"Husband-Coached Childbirth" Dr. Robert A. Bradley
"THe Nursing Mother's Companion" by K. Huggins
"Spiritual Midwifery" by Ina May Gaskin
"Super Baby Food" by Ruth Yaron
"The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth" by Henci Goer
If you have any of these books or have others that you think I should give a try, please feel free to pass along their titles and authors. =)
Off to the library...
